This session examines the academic experiences of first-generation college students in Colorado. The results of a three-institution study reveal the role academic libraries play in supporting first-generation student success. This study gathered information about the complexity of students’ life contexts in order to better understand how to develop programs services, and resources that effectively address first-generation college students’ needs. Presenters will discuss first-generation student experiences at different institutions and then facilitate small group discussions with attendees of how to support first-generation college students across school, public, and academic libraries.
